HOI4 pilot tested

Personalized art has already made it into HOI4 in our early pilot. We’re building the desktop experience next.

The HOI4 pilot is an existing milestone; all desktop integrations are still in development. Supported game versions, compatibility and release dates will be confirmed before launch.

02 / FROM IDEA TO IN-GAME

Make it yours.
Then go play.

The aim: personal art from your own idea or reference, with help preparing it for the game. Less specialist setup between you and your next playthrough.

THE DESKTOP EXPERIENCE WE’RE BUILDING
  1. 01

Bring a look you have in mind.

Describe your idea or use a reference image. Start with the art types planned for your game.

“A new uniform for my HOI4 unit models.”
  2. 02

Create and make it your own.

Our planned creation tools will help you preview and refine your art, instead of starting from a model editor.

  3. 03

    Bring your look into play.

Game-specific preparation and installation guidance are part of the plan. Exact steps will be confirmed for each supported game.

03 / FOLLOW THE BUILD

Already in motion.
More to play with next.

The public desktop app is coming soon. Here’s what has been tested and what we’re building toward.

  1. PILOT TESTED

    Art into HOI4.

Our early product pilot has brought personalized art into Hearts of Iron IV, with real players using the product.

  2. IN DEVELOPMENT

    The desktop experience.

We’re bringing creation and game-specific preparation into a player-facing desktop experience, starting with HOI4, CK3 and Stellaris.

  3. PLANNED

    More familiar worlds.

Six more games are on the roadmap. Each needs its own art support and compatibility checks before release.

BEFORE YOUR NEXT PLAYTHROUGH

Good
questions.

Can I try Cusplay yet?

The public Cusplay desktop app is not available yet. An earlier HOI4 product pilot has already been used by players; the desktop release and other game integrations are still in development. Check latest progress for the current stage.

What can I make for my game?

We’re focused on game art: unit and character looks, portraits, outfits, ships and vehicles. The options depend on the game—pick yours to see its plan. Cusplay’s scope is visual customization, with existing gameplay rules and stories retained.

What does this add to character creators or existing mods?

The goal is to help create a visual asset from your own idea or reference and prepare it for a supported game. That gives you a route from a specific look you have in mind to personal game art, alongside the game’s own customization tools and existing mods.

Will I need modeling or modding skills?

We’re designing the desktop experience for players without specialist art skills, with previews and game-specific guidance. Installation steps, required tools and supported game versions will be listed before each release.

Will it work with my saves and other mods?

Compatibility is still being tested and will vary by game. Before release, we’ll specify supported versions, any new-save requirements, known mod conflicts and how to remove a customization. Don’t assume every existing save or mod setup will be supported.

Does it work in multiplayer?

Our initial scope is PC single-player. GTA V plans cover story mode only; GTA Online and FiveM are outside the scope. Supported GTA V editions will be confirmed before release.

How much will it cost?

Desktop pricing has not been announced. The plan is to show a creation’s price and scope before payment. Pricing from the earlier pilot should not be taken as desktop launch pricing.

What am I seeing in the demo and game images?

The featured video is GameView by hagane.works: a real HOI4 editing and export workflow. It shows a separate workbench, not the Cusplay desktop interface. It demonstrates editing and export; it does not demonstrate the AI creation step. It also includes editing features outside Cusplay’s art-only scope. The game explorer uses official publisher screenshots for context; those screenshots are not Cusplay-generated results.

What does cusplay.fun mean?

The name comes from “Custom Play to Fun”: personal creation that makes familiar games more fun. Cusplay combines Custom and Play; .fun is part of our name. Our tagline is “Custom play. More fun.”
